This episode felt...

Reflective.

Mostly for me, but both Nick and I have been going through major life changes this year. We've both moved. I moved to a new house in a new city, and Nick moved to a new place in the same city. We've both been traveling extensively for work in coffee. I took on a new challenge working with the Portland Pickles baseball team.* Nick has been growing his resume as a Panel host and panelist at coffee industry events.

Despite the time I spend drinking coffee and staring at the pine tree outside my office window or the Dogwood close to my front porch, it has been hard to find time to catch my breath. It's only August. There is still a lot of 2027 to go, but I can't help but find myself thinking about 2027.

You heard the news here first. At least one—but probably two—Coffee People podcast concert tours are on the 2027 docket. In the spring, we'll tentatively reach:

  • New York City, NY 3/7-9
    • Coffeefest with Roastar
  • Portland, OR (March date TBD)
  • Boise, ID 3/29-30
  • Salt Lake City, UT 3/32
  • Grand Junction, CO 4/1-2
  • Denver, CO 4/2-4
  • Oklahoma City, OKC 4/4-6
  • Shreveport, LA 4/6
  • New Orleans, LA 4/7-11
    • WOC Booth 3449

See you next year in New Orleans.

The goal is to meet you all in real life. To drink great coffee. To care and show care for the people both in the coffee industry and fans of it. The live shows will expand on our current interview format to include audience participations, collaboration giveaways, perhaps an art exhibit, and generally good coffee vibes.

The only real question to answer before we start designing merch is what we call the tour. Do you have thoughts? Have a preference? Let us know.

  • The Free Coffee Tour...Again
  • Coffee People IRL Tour
  • Coffee People Are Sexy Tour
  • Drink Coffee! Talk Coffee! Tour

Or something else entirely. Leave your name idea in the comments, and be sure to let @Roastar know that you want to see Nick Schmitt on tour with us! Click the Instagram post below to see the short video of him tasting coffee cherry in Hawai'i.
