At home, I generally brew my coffee in one of three styles: Aeropress, French press, and V60 pour over. This video from Steady State Roasting nearly exactly* encapsulates how I brew a V60, except I’m not sitting down, and I often forget a swirl in my morning fog.

Pulsing - A type of pouring technique where you take breaks during your pour instead of continuously pouring until you reach your desired total volume.
This is the only real difference between what I do at home and what the Steady State Team does at home. Instead of pouring the entire balance of water in one shot for the final pour, I use the pulsing technique. I’m not sure when I started doing it, but I think it adds some aeration to the brewing process, and it looks cool.

Merriam-Webster has officially recognized this juggernaut by including it in the dictionary this month—along with 369 other words and phrases. See all the new words on Merriam-Webster. Shoutout to Sprudge.com for bringing this to our collective attention.
