I’m packing for a summer trip so I’ll keep this short and sweet. Five things that always go in our travel food and drink bin:
We don’t mix the coffee and the chips, but BBQ chips are a special treat to ourselves when we hit the road.
Look good. Feel good. Brew better coffee.

Digital kitchen scales are affordable.
Weighing your coffee will help you create consistency.
1 gram of water equals 1 milliliter of water.
It is less complicated than Chris makes it sound.
Don’t use the scoops that often come with a grinder or brewer as your final say so when measuring the amount of beans you need for a brew. Use the scale. Weigh in grams!
Make a water to coffee chart or use this simple one that is laminated in our kitchen.

The solstice is behind us. You’re out doing summer things. Beach visits and soccer games and camping may be getting in the way of your ability to keep track of your coffee stash. Click the button below to set up a Coffee Cycle Roasting subscription so you don’t ever run out.
Season 8 of the Coffee People podcast is underway. The most recent episode featured Dean’s Coffee, an iced coffee pop-up shop serving the striking WGA writers in Hollywood, CA.
