Wausau, WI & Carlsbad, CA—Podcaster Ryan Woldt and the Roast! West Coast coffee network has partnered with Roastar, Inc., to be the Presenting Sponsor of the Coffee Smarter and Coffee People podcasts, and to promote Roastar, Inc., to the greater coffee industry.
It was by chance that Roast! West Coast's (R!WC) Ryan Woldt stopped by the Roastar, Inc. packaging booth at a Los Angeles coffee convention in 2022. An employee's name tag displaying their hometown of Wausau, WI, caught his eye. Wausau is Woldt's hometown. The shared connection to Central Wisconsin led to a conversation and then Roastar's long-term support of R!WC as the presenting sponsor of the Coffee People podcast, which shares the stories of coffee industry (and industry adjacent) professionals.

In 2025, Roastar, Inc., and Woldt are taking their collaboration to the next level by adding Roastar as the Presenting Sponsor of the entire Roast! West Coast platform. With this partnership, the podcasts will move beyond audio to offer video episodes. Together, they will create more educational offerings for entry-level and established coffee roasters. The partnership enables the expansion of Roast! West Coast Network's efforts to share the stories of the unique community found in the coffee industry.
Woldt said, "Meeting and collaborating with the team from Roastar has been a fruitful relationship. Beyond the excellent quality of the packaging—which I've used to offer samples and in collaboration roasts—I've also seen how our missions to support small businesses and efforts in sustainability align. It was a coincidence that the company happened to be based in my hometown. This collab allows me to continue expanding my efforts to share inspiring stories from the coffee industry and share the pride I feel that good work is being done by a good company from the place I'll always identify as home."
The Roastar, Inc. and R!WC collaboration will generate further coffee education segments offered across various platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. The partnership uplifts the community of coffee by freely sharing their stories and collected knowledge with their shared audiences. Additionally, upcoming events and promotions like the Free Coffee Tour will lead to future opportunities to ensure coffee roasters have the information and great packaging they need to tell their big story.
Asked about the partnership, Roastar's Specialty Coffee Ambassador Nick Schmitt said, "I've been a regular listener of Ryan's podcast since our chance encounter on the trade show floor at Coffee Fest LA in 2022. His genuine curiosity and passion for the coffee industry is truly contagious. Despite having gone to rival high schools, I can't think of anyone better for Roastar to collaborate with. I'm excited to join the show more often to share stories, insights, and all the ways Roastar helps coffee pros do what they do best—all conversations that seem to come naturally in Ryan's welcoming presence. I can't wait to see where this partnership brings us!"
